The warm sunshine shines on the vast grassland, with undulating grass waves and a vibrant scene. Entering the Maodeng Ranch in Xilinhot City, Xilingol League, workers drive grass cutters back and forth on the green grassland, cutting, bundling, and loading fresh and tender grass for transportation.
In order to further utilize grassland resources rationally and ensure the sustainable use of natural grass pastures, Maodeng Ranch ensures that more than 30 meters of grassland vegetation is reserved as a grass seed belt every 300 meters when storing grass, and the stubble height is controlled at around 6 centimeters. Mechanical equipment such as double blade weeding machines, new type of grass stacking machines, and automatic grass loading machines are used to achieve full mechanization of the entire operation process, improve efficiency, and reduce the number of mechanical presses on the grassland, ensuring the sustainable use of natural grass pastures and achieving sustainable development.
Due to years of scientific management and protection, the grassland ecology of Maodeng Ranch has been significantly improved. At present, a comprehensive ecological protection base integrating ecology, economy, scientific research, and industrialization has been formed, and the grassland ecology has been well restored. The grassland vegetation coverage rate has increased from 30% to 62%, and the variety of forage has increased from 50 to more than 200. It can produce nearly 15000 tons of green hay annually, playing a positive role in forage supply, forage reserve, and price suppression.
